My five year old labrador
retriever, Kaepa, was my first dog. When I was stationed in New Jersey,
I got Kaepa from a breeder there. She made living there a lot more
enjoyable. Kaepa was spoiled when she was about a year old. We lived
about half a mile from the beach in New Jersey, where I took her to swim
once a week during the summer.
(Me and Kaepa at the beach in the spring time :Kaepa was 9 months old)
My four year old half
lab and who knows what other half, Rosco, is a native of Virginia.
I got Rosco from the Fluvanna SPCA when I moved here from Jersey.
He was extremely tiny when I got him. He fit in the palm of my hand and
his collar was smaller than my wrist.

(Rosco
the day I got him and about 5 months old on Monticello Trail near PVCC)
I enjoy spending time
with them both. When I can, I take them for a walk on a trail or
to the park. I raised both of them as puppies. As we have gotten
older, they continue to keep me busy and active. It's good fun and
exercise.
I strongly thing that
dogs can be great pets and a wonderful contribution to our quality of life.
There are many animals who have not been so fortunate to receive homes,
especially those at smaller shelters. If you would like to
